DG Café Puerto Banús: Is the Dolce & Gabbana Bar Worth Visiting?

I am not particularly interested in designer clothes. Yet a spontaneous stop at DG Café in Puerto Banús gave me a genuinely pleasant break above the marina—with coffee, playful Italian design and a blue sea just beyond the terrace.

The official name is DG Martini® Puerto Banús. It sits above the Dolce & Gabbana boutique, so this is less a traditional neighbourhood café and more a small taste of the polished Puerto Banús lifestyle.

My short verdict: visit if you enjoy fashion, people-watching, marina views and a slightly posh atmosphere. If you mainly want the best-value coffee in Marbella, this is probably not the place I would choose first.

What is DG Café in Puerto Banús?

Dolce & Gabbana describes the venue as Bar Martini®, housed on the first floor above its Puerto Banús boutique and overlooking the terrace. That is exactly the appeal: you are visiting a fashion-branded bar and café in one of the Costa del Sol’s most famous luxury marinas—not a quiet independent coffee shop hidden in a side street.

The official listing currently shows food and drinks and daily opening hours from 14:00 to 23:00. Hours can change with the season, so check the official Dolce & Gabbana page before making a special trip.

My honest experience—even without an interest in designer fashion

I did not visit because I wanted to buy a new designer wardrobe. I am simply not that interested in labels. Puerto Banús, however, has a talent for turning an ordinary walk into theatre: yachts, polished shopfronts, dramatic interiors and people who look as if they planned their sunglasses three days in advance.

Against that background, DG Café made sense. I enjoyed the contrast between the colourful, deliberately extravagant boutique and the relaxed view from the terrace. Once seated with the sea in front of me, it felt less like shopping and more like taking a short break inside a carefully designed film set.

Is DG Café suitable for all ages?

Yes, in the sense that the daytime experience does not require you to be young, fashionable or part of the nightlife crowd. Couples, friends, parents with children and older visitors can all enjoy a drink and the view. The lift and exact accessibility arrangements should still be confirmed with the venue if that matters for your visit.

It is important to set expectations: this is a designer bar and café, not a child-focused activity centre. Families may enjoy a short daytime stop, while the later atmosphere naturally leans more towards cocktails and the grown-up Puerto Banús scene.

The menu and the luxury factor

The menu covers coffee and other drinks as well as cocktails and champagne. The setting is part of what you are paying for, so I would arrive expecting Puerto Banús luxury pricing rather than a bargain café. I have included my photographs of the menu for context, but use them as a snapshot from my visit—not a permanent price list.

The bar and boutique are part of the experience

The visual identity continues from the bar into the boutique. Even if you do not intend to buy anything, the strong colours and theatrical displays make the walk through the building more memorable than the average coffee stop. This is precisely why I would recommend it only to visitors who enjoy the polished, slightly extravagant side of Marbella.

Who should visit—and who should skip it?

Visit if you like

  • Designer fashion and theatrical interiors
  • Marina views and people-watching
  • A polished setting for coffee or cocktails
  • Taking photographs in a colourful, recognisable location

Skip it if you want

  • The cheapest coffee in the area
  • A quiet local café away from luxury tourism
  • A child-centred attraction with activities
  • An experience completely unrelated to branding

Five other well-rated cafés and stylish stops in Puerto Banús

If the Dolce & Gabbana setting is not quite your style—or you simply want more options—these five places are worth putting on your shortlist. The Google Maps ratings and review counts below were checked on 17 September 2026. Ratings change, and Google’s café categories are not always consistent, so treat this as a useful snapshot rather than a permanent league table.

PlaceGoogle MapsWhy consider it?
FFcoffee4.9 (309 reviews)A highly rated sweet stop for coffee, crêpes, desserts, smoothies and colourful presentation.
Origins Brunch & Drinks5.0 (39 reviews)A newer brunch option with a perfect score but a much smaller review base.
Box Kitchen Marbella4.6 (85 reviews)A casual café in Banús Marina Mall with brunch-style food and coffee.
Rosas Café Marbella4.5 (1,714 reviews)Pretty, polished and very popular for breakfast, pastries and brunch near Puerto Banús.
LaLaLa Puerto Banús4.5 (1,559 reviews)An all-day marina restaurant and café with a glamorous setting, views and a lively evening atmosphere.

For pure luxury atmosphere, I would look first at Rosas Café and LaLaLa. For the strongest rating, FFcoffee stands out, while Origins is promising but still has far fewer reviews.

Practical tips before you go

  • Check the current opening hours. The official DG listing currently shows 14:00–23:00 daily, but seasonal changes are possible.
  • Go for the setting. The marina view and design are the main reasons to visit.
  • Do not expect a budget café. You are in Puerto Banús and inside a designer concept.
  • Daytime is the easiest option for families. Later hours are more bar-oriented.
  • Allow time for a walk. The marina, yachts and surrounding boutiques are part of the same experience.

My final verdict on DG Café Puerto Banús

I still have not become a designer-clothes enthusiast. But I did enjoy DG Café.

The coffee stop worked because I accepted it for what it is: a polished, branded experience in a marina built around luxury. The sea view was lovely, the surroundings were fun to explore, and the atmosphere made an ordinary break feel a little more special.

Would I cross the Costa del Sol solely for the coffee? Probably not. Would I stop again while walking around Puerto Banús? Yes—especially with someone who enjoys fashion, design or the posh Marbella lifestyle.
